Good Ship Dogma
On this sea of disorder...
Feel the wind and the water.
Close your eyes so you don't look ahead.
Nothing gets me out of bed.
(Now's the time to be strong)
The man with the plan was tossed from the arc.
Leaves us here with the fool and the shark.
(Now's the time to belong)
I want to believe that there's a sailor here
Who can steer us from this tribal fear.
(We want wisdom instead)
The ship it lists from the left to the right.
Now we're seasick from the constant fight.
(Put the Dogma to bed)
I try to empathize
with the man who just can't harmonize
with any other point of view
that didn't come from channel two
and I don't want be like you
with daggers shooting from my eyes
Silver sextants and satellites
couldn't guide us from this long cold night
(Sailing into the storm)
The captain charts a leeward turn,
but the crew it rows the ship astern.
(We just want to get warm)
We peek out from below the deck.
We see icebergs and a coming wreck.
(They lead us to the edge)
Let's make these pirates walk the plank.
Take back the oars before this good ship has sank.
(Put the Dogma to bed)
