The Woodland Fey
The Greyhound bus stopped in Des Moines
That's where the little bearded man got on
He took a seat right next to me
I was troubled by his proximity
he said:
You know, I spent my last bitcoin
To ride with you where ever you're going
You know, my name means mischief, too.
And I got some in store for you!

It's the forest that's my home
but woodland fairies sometimes roam
And if your vision clear and true
You might see one next to you.
All that I knew
just melted into greyhound blue
All of my plans would be altered, too.
And out the window,
the passing waves of grain
Dissolved into a driving rain.
I woke up in a high stakes poker game.
All my cards looked just the same.
And that woodland fey pushed my money away.
"We're all in!" I heard him say.
you know where this headed right?
he said "you lost your last black chip
It's the start of a very strange trip.
The destination will not be clear,
but in the end, you'll be glad I was here."

Since the day I ran into the woodland fey
I never knew where he would lead me to.
Now I look out my window at the forest that surrounds my home,
I catch the eyes of a spirit in the twilight gloam...
