Corporatocracy
The elephant and donkey drew a line in the sand.
They unleashed their barking dogmas for the upper hand.
(couldn’t) Leave behind the politics and take a hard look around.
(soon) California’s underwater and New York's sinking down.
Couldn’t see the forest for the trees,
or the bees,
or the rising of the seas.
The future is an afterthought in a Corporatocracy.

The Eagle circled high above the Shepherd and his flock.
The diamond suited rattlesnake made a payoff to the hawk.
One by one, the sheep were gone, and the shepherd boy was lost.

Noah called the animals to take refuge from the flood,
But the elephant and donkey, they kept fighting in the mud.
Two by two, the ram and ewe made their way onto the boat.
Waved goodbye to the squabbling tribes, hoping they could float.
