arcsin
I came to the shore for the sunshine
To get myself back again.
Where the seagulls circle the arc sine
Of the angle of the waves and the wind.
But I couldn’t find my direction,
Or know just where to begin.
And I couldn’t shake this impression
That the water was closing in.
All of the children were playing
A game that I could not recall
Past the last mast there were lovers
Waiting for nighttime to fall.
I came to the shore for the sunshine,
To get myself back again.
Where the seagulls circle the arc sine!
Of the angle of the waves and the wind.
I drifted off on a tangent
To the circles of life that we’re in.
And the sun circling round’s an expression
A sign of the arc as we spin.
